Time To Say Goodbye...

First before I get started I just wanted to apologize for the delay in time for my next entry. Understand that the type of blog I am attempting to portray is more writer based than photography and if there is nothing interesting to write about I refuse to waste anyone's time with BS! I want to keep you all interested but I myself have absolutely no interest slapping something together and trying to serve it up as brilliant. That is not Mickey J's Steeze... Whoa! I just referred to myself in the third person... O.o SHWAGG! Ha!

Now, time for what you joined me for. Let me say this... It is so hard. To say goodbye. To yesterday. Yesterday being no other than, my size 2. I think I'm ready though. *sigh*
Well, about a week ago, last Saturday to be exact, I planned my solo time as I always do. Hopes to hit up BabyCakes Cafe for some Cinnabun pancakes that I always so conveniently Instagram for my fellow IGer's mouths to water over. Maybe do a bit of shopping since I was going to be out. PAUSE: Ladies how do you get rid of the habit of shopping just because it's your day off?! Wait... Never mind that is a whole other post.

So any who, last Saturday was so randomly rainy (something I've become accustomed to so I no longer wash my car... Don't you judge me!) which was kind of ok with me because I felt the urge to wear my cognac Steve Madden boots. Why? I don't know, just did! Well as I began going through some of my denim that I felt the need to wipe the dust off, I came across my Levi's dark blue ulra-low skinny 521's. A pair of jeans I use to wear faithfully! I knew exactly which top would go perfect with the bottoms so it was a no brainier to hope right into them. Unfortunately for me the hopping seized right. Above... My knees. This couldn't be! I thought to myself, I knew that everything had grown a bit tighter but no longer being able to jimmy my pants up was just preposterous! Whatever! I flung those over my head and decided that my mint Levi's high-wasted skinnys would call for a cuter out fit... Nope... Not a chance! These sons of denim devils stopped even lower than my last pair! Ridiculous!

Now I stood in front of my closet staring up at all of my bottom memories. What was I to do?! There were at least 15 pairs of denim and pants that all ran about the same size. What exactly was I holding onto?! I am by no means fat, in my opinion I fill out pretty nice for my shape. Believing that I would one day fit into all of them again I don't even believe really ever crossed my mind. I think that I enjoy reminiscing a little too much and for that reason I always tend to hold a pair from my old collection up to my hips and smile. It happens ya know!

Well after this shindig, I decided it was time to let go. Thankfully enough, my squadron at work will be volunteering at a "Feed The Homeless" event this month. It was spoken of last Monday in our morning stand-up. The Person of Contact also mentioned that clothing donations are also being accepted. What a great idea right?! Give my luxuries to someone a little less fortunate than me. So it's done, come Monday morning I will be cleaning out my closet and donating my old jeans, pants, and even some shirts that I have no use for anymore. Everything is still in great condition, I'm just not in the place to sport any of it anymore and there is no use in me hoarding what someone else just might be a little more appreciative of. It's been a long road with my clothes, but the road must come to an end. I am more than happy to turn down a different avenue... I won't even necessarily try to replace all that I am giving up... Well... Sort of! Ha! Any who, thank you guys for being super patient with my tardiness! Aren't you glad you waited though?! Once again it has been my pleasure and thank you for for taking time out of your busy schedules to read... On These Hips... Until next time, have a good one!

Revenge of the Tuesday Blend

Last night marked another 1st Tuesday of the month which could only mean one thing for us local Vegas hip hop heads. Tuesday Blend! The event was awesome like always. Great people, good music, and of course plenty of dancing! It also was my chance to fight back for my dignity that was so disgracefully taken from me the month prior with the demolishing of my beloved Levi's. I knew could not go down the tight jean route once more for fear having another mishap. So I fought back!

Instantly after my incident I knew exactly what type of pants I wanted to get ahold of. So I stepped into the world of the harem pant! My outfit was a success for my comfort level and also my style. Not too over the top, just right. Needless to say, I danced the night away and battled my little heart out! HA! I even battled the same pretty boy that helped in causing the split of my jeans! No split jeans this time... I did manage to dance right out of my shoe though... sigh... I still didn't quit I just kept dancing right along... Ugh! My life! Well thanks for taking your time out once again and I hope you enjoy the rest of your nights! :)

In The Beginning...

Hello, and thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read what I feel has become my calling to the blog world! It has taken months, close to a year, to figure out what I was suppose to use my love and talent for at this point in my life and I believe I have found it. Fashion and style have always been apart of my life. From hiding from my mother in many department stores to being one of few girls in high school who insisted on wearing 4 in. heels to class like I was in a runway show for those who preferred wearing basketball shorts and the latest Air Jordan's (Something I was also no stranger to.).

As I got older I took a real liking to denim and how different types of bottoms could easily make or break a woman and man's figure, style, steeze, and comfort level just by it being the wrong fit. I use to work at the great Levi's in Union Square of San Francisco, CA. right next to Tiffany's and across the street from Niketown conveniently located if you ask me! There I was lucky enough to see all of the latest, exclusive, and early releases for the brands most amazing denim. Notably I stocked up and put my employee discount to good use! With 30+ pairs of jeans who would of thought I at the tender age of 20 could have ever grown out of my 2/26 in.-4/27 in. petite size? Oh brother... how life goes on... HA!

A few weeks ago I attended a first Tuesday event as I had been doing for the few months before called Tuesday Blend in my new home town of Las Vegas, NV. This most wonderful gathering is a showcase for local hip hop artist, dance groups, and artist to get together and just have a wonderful time while avoiding the chaos of the most famoous Las Vegas Strip and all of the manic tourist that go along with it. As you guessed it I am also a dancer! Comfort is huge for me in the leg area because I can't help but do the most on the dance floor with all of my battling and freestyling going around.

Now this particular night I got into a whacking battle with a very pretty and slender boy... I can never be showed up by anyone, so after twirling my arms in the most illuminating figures above my head I jumped as high as I could in my purple Levi Unisex skinny's and landed into a split... I heard something split but since I had my sweater wrapped around my waist I decided to continue on with my battle... HEY! Don't judge me, the crowd by then had formed a circle and was roaring with approval from my most daring move. I couldn't let them down! Sadly, as it ended and I walked away high fiving my fellow patron as I exited the area I cocked my sweater to the side and this is what I saw...

Now I knew my pants were tight but I could never imagine the likes of this catastrophe! I came home and debated over what I should do with one of favorites and what could I do about this most horrific experience. So I folded my pants up neatly and placed them into my closet and decided I would write about it. I am now a hippy size 6 and although I love my size, the majority of my pants can no longer be apart of my wardrobe. This being said, I have dedicated my blog to findng that perfect fit! Not only for me, I have plenty of friends who are on this same boat and could use the assistance in that sometimes most dredful trip to their favorite retailer to find what looks good on them. There are so many different events and looks that I am excited to write about for what is most fitting and I am even more excited that you all are willing to take his trip with me! I honestly hope that you enjoy what is... On these hips... Until next time! Good night all!
